I am now a Bachelor of Science degree-holding wildlife biologist... or something like that... and I am trying do do with it. So far I have applied to a handful of conservation and zoo jobs in Australia and have come out with one interview (over the phone at 11:30 at night) at the Melbourne Aquarium to be a penguin keeper. ...no job offers yet.
The plan is to go to Australia and apply for jobs in person (so I'm actually there for the interview). In the meantime, I will try and volunteer at the Aquarium to get some penguin experience under my belt. Hopefully they will be as accommodating as Jungle Gardens and let me be an intern in the non-existent intern program. I'm working on that :) Of course, I will have a paying cafe job or something to pay the bills (or start my dog walking business in Melbourne).
I have sold all of my furniture (except my bed)... trying to sell my car, and today (thanks to some graduation gifts and kind people who bought my stuff) I booked my ticket to Melbourne!! I will be leaving the 21st of July and getting there on the 23rd (Luke's birthday)!!! After staying in Ocean Grove for a bit, Luke and I will be moving in with a friend we met in Darwin and her friend. We are looking at cute, victorian houses in a neat part of town. Exciting!
I just like online house shopping. Here is one we like.
Anyway. I will post more when something worth posting happens. Until then, I will be looking for adventure. :)
