You're Hired!

After a month of applying for jobs at environmental organizations here and there and one over-the-phone interview for penguin keeper at 11:30 at night in Florida.... I have been asked to join the Visitor Services team at the Melbourne Aquarium!! I also was told I had an interview for the education department but I would miss the training for this job if (for some reason) I didn't get it.. and then I'd have no job. So... needing a job to apply for an apartment in Melbourne and being a bit nervous to take on a real world education job right off the bat at the Melbourne Aquarium... I will be one of the smiling faces selling tickets, memberships, and playing with wii's and nintendo ds's in the penguin room (and the kids will be playing with them too). A foot in the door no less. I can move on to whatever is open in January so by then I will have a good idea of how to get around the aquarium and be ready to have a real job.

I came to Australia saying I would get a job at the Aquarium, and here I am. However, we still don't have an apartment.

I get to wear a vest! The pants are man pants and crispy. I will be washing them with rocks and attempting to tailor them.

The Pebbles and the Penguins.

Here are some penguins who live at the Melbourne Aquarium. They are King and Gentoo penguins. The little Gentoo penguins are making nests with their little pebbles! It's like their home movie.

I took this video after my interview at the Aquarium. No big deal. (Then I played with iMovie for the first time.. oh being unemployed).
