After a month of applying for jobs at environmental organizations here and there and one over-the-phone interview for penguin keeper at 11:30 at night in Florida.... I have been asked to join the Visitor Services team at the Melbourne Aquarium!! I also was told I had an interview for the education department but I would miss the training for this job if (for some reason) I didn't get it.. and then I'd have no job. So... needing a job to apply for an apartment in Melbourne and being a bit nervous to take on a real world education job right off the bat at the Melbourne Aquarium... I will be one of the smiling faces selling tickets, memberships, and playing with wii's and nintendo ds's in the penguin room (and the kids will be playing with them too). A foot in the door no less. I can move on to whatever is open in January so by then I will have a good idea of how to get around the aquarium and be ready to have a real job.
I came to Australia saying I would get a job at the Aquarium, and here I am. However, we still don't have an apartment.

Here are the other newbies and me on our first day... in the tunnel... (but actually at the picture station)
